Rain Can’t Dampen the Spirit of Emaar as it Repairs Numerous UAE Rain-Hit Homes

Residential development in UAE is not a one-off phenomenon. The lucky inhabitants are entitled to rain-induced repair too. This seems to be the motto of Emaar Properties. The Dubai-based development firm has set right over 4,500 of its housing units that were rattled by heavy rains which hit the UAE in April. Indeed, what chance do the worst downpours that the country has seen in 75 years have when Emaar is hard at work?
Talking about heavy rains, it’s been a deluge of business for the company as well this year. Indeed, the UAE’s largest developer triggered 30 projects between January and June this year, completing over 8,500 liveable units. Marking an increase of about 56 per cent in business volume, it’s no wonder the firm’s honchos are in a generous mood. The goodwill gesture of attending to leakages and ailing structures will no doubt further strengthen Emaar’s reputation.
The firm’s elves descended with unparalleled resolve on several localities in the northern UAE which took a beating from the thunderstorms. These included, Dubai Marina, Emaar South, Dubai Creek, Arabian Ranches, The Valley and Dubai Hills Estate. What’s more, Emaar has inspired other developers to follow suit with Damac Properties and MAG also extending the unique service to their customers.
However, to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself (and that local domicile development firms aren’t lumbered with more repair work), the Dubai government has sanctioned AED 30 billion for an expansive drainage network. This project is projected to be of 700 per cent efficacy! That should keep heavy cloud bursts from inflicting more damage on residences in town.
