From China to the Pyramids: Jiang Qiong Er Brings ‘Universal Art’ to Egypt

Dubai, 02 September 2026: One of China's most celebrated contemporary artists, Jiang Qiong Er, is set to bring a major new installation to Egypt's iconic Pyramids of Giza as part of the sixth edition of Forever Is Now.

Organised by Art D’Égypte, Forever Is Now 06 will take place from November 4 to 28, 2026, bringing internationally acclaimed artists into dialogue with one of the world's most enduring ancient landmarks.

Jiang Qiong Er's participation is particularly significant this year as Egypt and China celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations. Her involvement adds a strong cultural dimension to the milestone, highlighting the growing artistic and cultural connections between the two countries.

Based between France and China, Jiang Qiong Er is known for working across painting, sculpture, installation and public art. Her works have been presented internationally, with pieces held in collections including UNESCO, the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Musée Guimet.

For Forever Is Now 06, the artist is creating a new installation specifically for the Giza Plateau. Rather than simply being viewed, the work is designed as a passage that visitors can walk through, drawing inspiration from the shared histories and cultural connections between Egypt and China.

The exhibition is being held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, UNESCO and Experience Egypt.

According to Jiang Qiong Er, her work explores ideas of togetherness and how people can live together, using artistic gestures rather than words to communicate these themes.

Forever Is Now has become known for placing contemporary art against the extraordinary backdrop of the Egyptian pyramids. With Jiang Qiong Er joining the 2026 edition, the exhibition is set to create another striking meeting point between ancient heritage and contemporary art.
