Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi Takes on New Leadership Role at Sharjah Museums Authority
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi has appointed Her Highness Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi as President of the Sharjah Museums Authority, reinforcing Sharjah's commitment to advancing arts, culture and heritage through visionary leadership.
Dubai, 11 July 2026: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree appointing Her Highness Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi as President of the Sharjah Museums Authority.
The appointment further strengthens Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi's leadership in the cultural sector, where she already serves as President and Director of Sharjah Art Foundation and Director of the Sharjah Biennial. She also holds leadership roles at the Sharjah Architecture Triennial, The Africa Institute, Global Studies University and the University of the Arts Sharjah.
Internationally recognised for her contributions to arts and culture, Sheikha Hoor received France's prestigious Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres honour in 2025 and currently serves as ALECSO's Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture (2025–2026).
Her appointment reflects Sharjah's continued commitment to strengthening its position as a leading global hub for museums, heritage and contemporary arts.
