UAE Staycation Bookings Jump 31% as Families Plan October Half-Term Holidays
dnata Travel reports a 31% year-on-year increase in UAE staycation bookings for October half-term 2026, with Dubai leading domestic breaks and the Maldives, Mauritius and Spain among popular international destinations.
Dubai, 11 Oct 2026: Staycation bookings across the UAE have increased by 31% year-on-year ahead of the October half-term break, according to dnata Travel. The latest figures highlight strong demand from families looking for convenient holidays, beach escapes and premium experiences closer to home.
The UAE remains the top destination booked by residents for the school holiday period, with Dubai accounting for 78% of all staycation bookings. Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah follow, while hotels on Yas Island and Palm Jumeirah continue to attract travellers seeking leisure and entertainment experiences.
International travel demand is also growing. The Maldives, Spain, France, Thailand and Mauritius are among the most popular overseas destinations. Spain has recorded a 65% year-on-year increase in sales, while demand for travel to the United States has risen by 6%. France and Japan are also performing ahead of last year, with Finland attracting enquiries from travellers interested in cooler-weather holidays.
Average family travel booking values have increased by 6% year-on-year. Meanwhile, bookings through dnata Travel’s retail stores have grown by 16%, and bookings generated through social media channels have tripled compared with the same period last year.
