More than just an Indian restaurant, Daftar is a celebration of homegrown flavours, shared meals, and the simple joys of eating together—all wrapped in a warm yet sophisticated setting.
Daftar translates to 'office' in Hindi/Urdu and 'notebook' in Arabic. The restaurant beautifully brings these meanings to life with tiffin-box lunches and shared stories that unfold over meals, all in an elevated ambiance with impeccable service.

At the heart of this vision is founder Isheeta Sharma, an event planner with a passion for storytelling. She brings meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that Daftar is more than just a restaurant—it's an experience. "I wanted to create a place that feels like home, where people can unwind over meals that remind them of simpler times—without compromising on quality or experience," says Isheeta.
From concept to opening, she worked tirelessly to perfect every detail, from interiors to the menu, curating a space that blends exceptional dining with creativity and community in the heart of DIFC.

Daftar's interiors are a heartfelt tribute to simpler times, blending earthy textures, curated artwork, and lush greenery to create a space that feels both warm and refined. Every corner has a story to tell—from restored décor & art pieces to business magazines sourced from across India to the signature Daftar Wall, each detail is a nostalgic nod to the past. Guests will find treasures like an original Philips television set, a German barometer, a Simplix typewriter, magazines from the 1980s, an old marine binocular, and a classic rotary phone—little reminders of childhood and cherished memories. Adding to the experience, Daftar sends guests off with a touch of nostalgia—a feathered fountain pen to leave their mark the old-school way and iconic childhood candies as a sweet farewell. In the heart of DIFC's corporate hustle, Daftar offers a refreshing pause—a place where history and modernity come together in the most comforting way.
Spread across 6,800 square feet, the restaurant seamlessly blends a People and Culture Hub, a Sip-and-Nibble Section, an Executive Chamber, and a cosy outdoor terrace, which is the Think Lab, with a total capacity to accommodate 120 guests.

Signature highlights include Jhol Momo, Mushroom Galouti, Vada Pav, Cajun Chicken Tikka, Tawa Fish, Daftar Daal, Rogan Josh, Awadhi Biryani, Jalebi, and Orange Quinoa Kheer—each crafted to evoke the warmth of a home-cooked meal while delivering an elevated culinary experience.
