Dubai Visas for Indians Just Got Better

If you are an Indian citizen, then visiting Dubai has just gotten easier. As it is, India is the source of the most tourists from any country to the financial hub. And now the UAE government wants to further capitalise on the city’s apparent attractiveness for Indians. Thus, the concerned authorities have just introduced a 5-year multi-entry visa for citizens of the South Asian country.

Adding to the incentive, processing of such a visa application will be speedy. Yes, the task will now take a mere 2 to 5 days. What’s more, Indians will be able to stay in Dubai for 90 days with a possible extension of a similar period. The projected numbers are so encouraging that the powers-that-be couldn’t resist instituting this offer.

Yes, in 2023, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) recorded as much as 2.6 million Indians landing on its shores as visitors. This is a significant increase from 1.84 million Indian tourists in 2022, with Indians accounting for a staggering 13% of Dubai’s total volume of visitors. And with Covid practically out of the way, the coast was clear for business to boom.

Bader Al Habib, a top official of the DET, has gone on record to say that India plays a key role in enhancing Dubai as a bustling centre for not just pleasure, but for business and investment too. Already, the UAE is India’s third biggest trade partner. Al Habib added that the scope for economic collaboration can only broaden with the enticing new visa policy.

The varied Indian market enables Dubai to provide a wide range of activities like luxury shopping and cultural experiences to family attractions and business conventions. Perhaps, the DET could soon offer visas-on-arrival for Indians, by taking a leaf out of the books of such countries as the Maldives, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Iran, Jordon, Myanmar and Cambodia among others. For now though, UAE's flashiest emirate is making Indians an offer they can't refuse.
