Hilton’s Green Ramadan Initiative
In partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) West Asia, Winnow, and Goumbook, Hilton launched Green Ramadan in 2023 as an initiative to reduce food waste. During this year’s Ramadan celebrations, DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai - Business Bay is pleased to once again support Hilton’s strategic ESG pillars, which include Responsible Sourcing, Waste Management, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
Through this continued participation, the hotel will forensically measure pre- and post-consumer food waste using Winnow’s AI technology, prioritise local sourcing within a 50-mile radius, promote sustainable gastronomy, restrict the use of disposable plastic products, use UNEP’s ‘Recipe of Change’ messaging to allow guests to make climate-smart choices, partner with local food banks, and focus on composting to divert food waste from landfills.
