UAE Year of the Family 2026: Salik Supports Students of Determination
Salik is covering the cost of an accessible transportation bus for 13 students of determination at Dubai’s Al Noor Training Centre, supporting access to education, therapy and development programmes.
Dubai, 30 Oct 2026: Salik Company PJSC has announced that it will cover the cost of an accessible transportation bus for 13 students of determination at Al Noor Training Centre for People of Determination in Dubai. The initiative aims to make daily travel easier for students and their families while supporting continued access to education and developmental programmes.
Announced on 21 October, the initiative will help provide reliable transportation to and from the Centre, where students receive educational, developmental and support services. By covering the bus cost, Salik is helping ease a practical challenge faced by families and supporting students’ participation in learning and development activities.
The initiative also aligns with the objectives of the UAE’s Year of the Family 2026, which highlights the importance of family wellbeing, inclusion and stronger community support.
Ibrahim Al Haddad, Chief Executive Officer of Salik, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to supporting practical community needs and creating meaningful social value. He added that improving access to education and development opportunities can help families overcome everyday barriers and strengthen social inclusion.
Khalid Salem Al-Halyan, Chairman of Al Noor Special Needs Centre in Dubai, described accessible transportation as an important link that enables students to participate in education, therapy, vocational training and community activities. He said Salik’s support would provide students with safe, reliable and dignified access to the Centre’s programmes while reducing the transportation burden on families.
The partnership builds on Salik’s wider initiatives supporting people of determination. These include its participation in the “Dubai Communicates in Sign Language” initiative, which promotes awareness of sign language and its role in making communication more inclusive.
People of determination were also among the first categories to receive exemptions from Salik road toll fees, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
Through these efforts, Salik continues to support accessibility, social participation and community wellbeing, while working with organisations that provide services to people of determination and their families.
