Dubai, UAE (April 2024): Qartuli, the hidden gem of authentic Georgian cuisine nestled in the heart of Dunya Tower, Downtown Dubai, is pleased to invite you to capture the essence of this culturally rich nation throughout April. Launched in February by two Georgian women, the venue has been thoughtfully designed to evoke the charm of a traditional Georgian home, with a cosy setting and a 130-year-old carpet brought from a Georgian museum adding a touch of history and authenticity to the ambience. This April, Qartuli has curated a calendar filled with culinary and cultural experiences, such as traditional Supra, Georgian Festival Weekend, live Georgian music, and more. 

Georgian Folk Music Performances  

Situated between Europe and Asia, Georgia is known for its diverse urban singing styles that blend various cultural influences. This April at Qartuli, guests are invited to experience the enchanting melodies of Georgian folk music from Ana Bujiashvili, Lia Khuntsaria, and UCHA, three talented artists. Hailing from Georgia, these artists are celebrated for their captivating performances and mastery of Georgian folk music. 

With a repertoire that spans various styles, they seamlessly blend traditional tunes with modern sounds, creating a mesmerising musical experience for all guests. Set to perform on multiple days throughout the month, prepare to immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Georgia and enjoy the soul-stirring rhythms and harmonies brought to life by these incredible musicians and singers. 

When: 

April 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st: From 2pm to 5:30pm 

April 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th: From 7:30pm to 10:30pm 

Georgian Festival Weekend  

Immerse yourself in the heart of Georgian culture at Qartuli's Festival Weekend, taking place on April 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st. The entire venue will come alive to showcase various cultural elements, where hosts will be wearing Chokha, a traditional Georgian dress, and tempting desserts such as Pelamushi and Churchkhela will be freshly prepared in a large bowl. Guests will be able to make their own Churchkhela as well, with dedicated stands to hang and dry these delicious candle-shaped candies. 

This festival is the perfect chance to explore Qartuli's diverse offerings, as many of its products will be on display, in addition to a dedicated space where guests can taste and purchase authentic Georgian grape, cheeses, and more. Backgammon, a two-player board game played with counters and dice will also be available, adding an element of fun to the festival while guests enjoy live Georgian folk music. This festival promises to be a feast for the senses, bringing together music, culture, and delectable cuisine in a delightful and memorable experience for all who attend.

Supra (Traditional Georgian Feast)  

Step into the heart of Georgian traditions at Supra, an authentic Georgian feast and part of the country's social culture. Get ready for an evening filled with live music performed by Georgian folk music artists starting from 7:30 pm, creating a vibrant atmosphere for all to enjoy. Guests are invited to delight in various dishes presented in the most authentic fashion on an impressive 13-meter-long Supra table. Experience the artistry of Georgian culinary traditions firsthand with captivating live cooking stations, where Georgian chefs will be serving Khinkali (traditional dumplings), Sulguni (a brined Georgian cheese), in addition to desserts such as Churchkhela and Pelamushi. 

Delve deeper into this fascinating culture as the venue's knowledgeable hosts share captivating stories about the country's history, regions, and traditions. Embodying the spirit of Georgian hospitality and tradition, hosts will be dressed in traditional Chokha uniforms, while a Tamada (toast maker) will be appointed at the table, leading with heartfelt toasts and ensuring that every moment is filled with warmth and camaraderie. Guests will also receive special gifts, including retro photos, Churchkhela, and Adjika sauce, ensuring a memorable experience for everyone.
