Actress Amrita Pandey Kills Self, Leaves Cryptic Note
The Bhojpuri actress who had made appearances in Hindi films, was on a trip home for a family wedding when tragedy struck.

In yet another shocking case of an Indian celebrity committing suicide, actress Amrita Pandey took her life on Saturday, April 27, 2024. According to a report by the Times of India, Amrita popularly known as Annapurna, was found dangling from the ceiling of the room at her family’s apartment in Bhagalpur, Bihar. Her sister Veena made the shocking discovery at 3:30 in the afternoon.
Attempts to revive Annapurna were unsuccessful and she was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. The local police have been trying to ascertain the motive for the untimely death while trying to decipher an apparent suicide note. The handwritten message translated from Hindi reads, “Their life was on two boats. We made their path easier by sinking our boat.”
There has been speculation whether the strange missive indicates her relationship with her husband of two years and animation engineer Chandramani Jhangad. However, Annapurna’s family have stated that she was frustrated with her stagnating career which had led to depression. The late actress and her spouse had flown in from Mumbai for the wedding of her sister, which took place just a day before the death.
The deceased lady had acted in several Bhojpuri films, the 2018 action-romance flick Deewanapan being her most successful. She also had minor roles in the Bollywood hits – Chennai Express (2013), Haider (2014) and Dangal (2016). Like some of Annapurna’s films, her life too has ended in tragedy.
