Karan Johar mocks Bollywood stars’ Cosmetic Surgery
A controversial post by the flamboyant film personality has fans up in arms.
Known for not mincing words, one of Hindi cinema’s most outspoken personalities – Karan Johar – has put up a piquant post on his Instagram account. The message which is in the form of a brief Hinglish poem, appears to have ruffled some feathers among his following on the social media platform. The post which makes a jibe at Bollywood stars who undergo facial enhancement work, has apparently been considered too provocative... even by Johar’s standards.
Fans apparently suspect that the prolific film-maker’s dig at tinsel town emerged under the influence of alcohol. Translated to English, Johar’s little rant reads as follows: “Applying Fillers doesn’t bring fulfilment/ Applying make-up doesn’t make you younger/No matter how much Botox you do, you’ll end up looking like a bee stung you/Changing your nose doesn’t change the stench into fragrance/Going under the knife will only change your exterior, not your nature.”
Not surprisingly, Johar’s little composition has invited a backlash from fans and movie-goers. “He must have been high as a kite when he came up with this,” commented one Instagram denizen, while another expressed suspicions that Johar had had a tussle with Bollywood starlet Janhvi Kapoor.
Another fan speculated that Johar was targeting actress Shanaya Kapoor after having signed on for the former’s announced film Student of the Year 3. Regardless of whether KJ was inebriated or not, he has been discreet enough not to name names. Also, can we take Karan himself on “face value”?
