You haven't seen Sholay like this before: 4K Restoration and live orchestra set for London Premiere
Bollywood classic Sholay is set to make its Films in Concert world premiere at London's Royal Albert Hall on October 10, featuring a live performance of R.D. Burman's iconic score by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra alongside a screening of the newly restored 4K version, Sholay: The Final Cut.
Dubai, 23 June 2026: Bollywood's legendary blockbuster Sholay is getting a spectacular new presentation as the film makes its Films in Concert world premiere at London's Royal Albert Hall on October 10. Produced by Sippy Films and esk, the event will feature the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra performing R.D. Burman's unforgettable score live alongside the movie.
The screening will showcase "Sholay: The Final Cut", the recently restored 4K version of the 1975 classic, including the original ending that was removed by Indian censors when the film was first released. The movie will be shown in Hindi with English subtitles on a giant HD screen inside the historic venue.
Directed by Ramesh Sippy, Sholay stars Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar and Amjad Khan in one of Indian cinema's most iconic stories. Over the decades, the film has topped numerous lists of the greatest Indian movies ever made and recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Shehzad Sippy, head of Sippy Films, said the company is excited to present the restored version of the film in this immersive format and give audiences a rare opportunity to experience the classic on the big screen.
Matt Todd, Director of Programming at the Royal Albert Hall, said Sholay remains one of Bollywood's greatest films and that the Hall is delighted to host its Films in Concert world premiere with a live orchestra.

Sholay in Concert follows the success of RRR in Concert, which was held at the Royal Albert Hall last year and featured appearances by stars Ram Charan, NTR, director S.S. Rajamouli and composer M.M. Keeravani.
Tickets for Sholay in Concert start from £30. Pre-sale for Royal Albert Hall Friends and Patrons opens on June 25, while general ticket sales begin on June 26 through the Royal Albert Hall website.
