Shocking Revelations in the Elvish Yadav Snake Venom Case
The celebrity, who allegedly supplied snake venom for rave parties, has been booked and jailed.
The controversial snake venom which is used in making a recreational drug, is the pretext for a high profile arrest. Prolific Youtuber Elvish Yadav finds himself behind bars for providing rave-goers in the National Capital Region with the illicit substance. The winner of the Bigg Boss OTT 2 reality TV show was recently taken in by the Noida police and has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.
The 26-year-old Elvish, who changed his name from Siddharth, has reportedly not confessed to his crime yet. But the cops claim to have “enough evidence” to convict the accused. This reportedly includes paraphernalia necessary for extracting venom from snakes and converting it into a powdery substance, which he then bottled for distribution to 6 rave parties. Meanwhile, interrogations of some of the party-goers are underway to help build the case.
The youngster has been booked under the Wildlife Protection Act and the Narcotics, Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and could face a prison term of upto 20 years as well as a huge fine. According to the police, Elvish supplied the contraband to show that he was “swag” or invincible to being apprehended. However, it seems that the law enforcement agencies are equal to the task.
Meanwhile, more melodrama unfolded on TV screens. Elvish's parents – Ram Avtar Yadav and Sushma Yadav - broke down when being interviewed by a national channel. His father empathically stated that his son’s purported crime was inconsistent with his “upbringing” and he has “no connection with all these things”. He added that they are all suffering because of someone else’s wrong-doing. However, it looks like this is one case of “snake bite” that Elvish is unlikely to survive.
