On Friday, October 18, Saks SVP, Fashion Director Roopal Patel co-hosted a cocktail party with internationally acclaimed designers Rahul Mishra and Anamika Khanna at L’Avenue at Saks to celebrate the launch of both designers’ namesake labels at Saks. Celebrities, fashion editors and notable friends of the designers came together for an unforgettable evening, where guests enjoyed specialty cocktails, passed canapés and traditional Indian desserts including gulab jamun, jalebi and motichoor ladoo. DJ Priyanka Podjale set the mood for the evening with a lively DJ set, while guests mingled in the stunning event space adorned with lush greenery and pops of bright florals, as a nod to the vibrant floral prints and embroideries featured throughout both collections.

AK|OK Anamika Khanna is inspired by a traveling biker of the Bonda Tribe, one of the oldest tribes in India, known for their distinctive aesthetics. Jackets, slouchy pants, drapes and kaftans are transformed into statement pieces through bold prints, embroideries and colors inspired by the Bonda community. In a collection made rich with detail, Anamika Khanna combines thick thread-work embroidery reminiscent of biker studs to reinvent the idea of urban wear.
