S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR to Re-release in Theatres on May 10th, 2024
The blockbuster Telugu film which ensnared the Oscar's Best Song is all set for a reprise.
S.S. Rajamouli's Oscar-winning film RRR, featuring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles, is set to re-release in theatres on May 10, PVR-INOX announced on Monday.
“Yes, you guessed it right! We can’t contain our excitement because #RRR phir se theatres mein aa raha hain on 10th May ,” the official handle of PVR Cinemas posted on X alongside posters of the movie.
Originally released on March 24, 2022, RRR went on to become a behemoth at the global box-office, garnering nearly Rs 1,200 crore gross worldwide. In addition to its Oscar win for Best Original Song, RRR earned a spot on the BAFTA 2023 longlist for Film Not in the English Language, clinched a Golden Globe for Best Original Song and secured the Best Song award at the 28th Critics Choice Awards alongside the Best Foreign Language Film award.
A period drama set during the British raj in India, RRR revolves around Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film also features Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson and Shriya Saran in key roles.
