Indian Jewellery expanding its horizons in Saudi Arabia and how!

India dazzles at the SAJEX curtain raisers in Jeddah and Riyadh

India — the world’s largest diamond manufacturing hub.

Saudi Arabia — the Gulf’s largest nation with a 1.1 trillion dollar GDP and a 112 billion dollat export opportunity.

So when these two sparkling powerhouses come together, sparks are bound to fly.

When I first stepped into the jewelry market here in Jeddah, I expected the language barrier to be a challenge. But the moment I entered the first showroom, it was clear — Saudi hospitality and their enthusiasm for Indian gems and jewelry far outweighed any communication gap.

They seemed to already know why we were here — and that became even more evident at the curtain raiser event later that evening at the Ritz Carlton, where the Saudi Arabia Jewellery Expo 2025 was officially launched.

A massive turnout of jewellers from across Jeddah spoke volumes about their curiosity and respect for everything India represents — from our timeless designs to our vibrant culture, and the immense potential for blending the Indian ethos with Saudi Arabia’s own rich heritage.

As dignitaries took the stage and shared powerful numbers from India’s ever-growing gem and jewelry industry, what stood out just as strongly was Saudi Arabia’s ambition — and the exciting role it’s carving out for itself on the global stage as part of Vision 2030.
