Deepika Padukone is expecting... guess who?

It’s official: the Bollywood star couple of Deepika Padukone and her hubby Ranveer Singh are pregnant. And after five years of blissful marriage and with the alarm on Deepika’s biological clock ringing, one would think it’s about time. Indeed, a little Ranveer or Deepika is on the way and should make its first appearance this September. The delighted parents-to-be have starred together in Goliyon ki Rasleela, Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and 83. But this will be their most personal “production” together. 

The overjoyed couple jointly announced the news of their upcoming Pride & Joy on social media platforms. The brief message, imbued with gratitude and happiness, was embellished with happy emoticons and adorable stickers of milk bottles, a bib and infant attire. The couple, who had exchanged marital vows in November, 2018, had repeatedly spoken of their desire to extend the family. The imminent mother had herself expressed as much to Vogue Singapore in January this year.

Then, on Feburary 19th at the BAFTA Awards ceremony in London, brows began to rise and tongues began to wag over speculation that the Om Shanti Om star was knocked up. The clue to this assumption? - Her saree’s pallu conspicuously concealing her mid-riff. 

It’s likely now with her baby bump set to bloom further, Deepika will have to place her acting career on the back burner. One would hope that she has wrapped up shooting her scenes for her upcoming releases – Kalki 2898 AD and Singham Again, although reportedly both films are in post-production mode. And guess what? Ranveer’s calendar is empty for the moment too. However, the accomplished actor is set to play his most unique role to date.
