Alia Bhatt’s Saree at Ram Mandir Opening Grabs Eyeballs
Fans who caught online glimpses of Alia’s appearance at the Ram Temple inauguration were enthused by an unusual feature of her saree.
Most inhabitants of India's tinsel town showed up at the Ram Mandir opening in Ayodhya on Monday, Jan 22, donning ethnic attire. And star couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were no exception. After all, this momentous cultural and religious occasion called for traditional garb. But it appears that Alia’s saree was quite the stand out and not just for its attractive hue of teal green.
On closer inspection, the pleated and shimmering outfit was also sporting captivating and detailed embroidery work. Indeed, the garment’s border had couture embellishments depicting motifs of the celebrated deity. Most apparent in this collage were the rocks of the Ram Sethu, the trademark bow and arrow as well as the tulsi plant and saffron clothing.
It seems Alia’s unique choice of dress has won favour with her fans. Within just a few hours of her arrival at the sacred location, a myriad netizens put out comments and posts expressing their appreciation of the sophisticated saree-with-a-message. Many of her faithful followers gleefully acknowledged her tribute to these symbols from the Ramayana, which were expertly embossed upon her saree. Perhaps, such an original idea on the part of the Raazi star would impress the pantheon of gods as well.
