The train track en route to Wadi Rum is part of the historic Hejaz Railway, which once connected Damascus to Medina. Originally built during the Ottoman Empire in the early 20th century, the railway was intended to facilitate pilgrimages to Mecca. Today, remnants of this railway, with its old tracks and stations, offer a glimpse into a bygone era as you travel through the stark, dramatic landscapes of southern Jordan on the way to Wadi Rum. The journey takes you through a desert of red sands and towering rock formations, echoing with the history and adventures of the past.
