Arjun Kapoor as a Baddie in Singam Again
Arun Kapoor is all set to shed his hero image in Rohit Shetty’s much awaited new flick, which boasts a stellar casts and much promised action to boot.
The Cop Universe creator Rohit Shetty has given the media and fans a tantalising taste of his latest entry on the popular franchise. And adding to the spice of this August 15th release is hitherto hero Arjun Kapoor, donning the garb and persona of a supreme villain. It looks like after his father Anil Kapoor essayed the role of a villain in last year’s Night Manager, it is time for Arjun to step into the old man’s shoes.
Believe it or not, “Singham 3” as it is being touted publicly, has been in the pipeline for 7 years. Indeed, Rohit Shetty first announced plans of the production back in 2017 before other commitments took precedence. However, by the look of the teaser image, Singha Again seems like it is going to be well worth the wait. It is a monumental undertaking, given that four production houses are involved: Rohit Shetty Picturez, Reliance Entertainment, Jio Studios and Ajay Devgn Ffilms. Principal photography commenced on September, 2023 with Hyderabad and Mumbai serving as backdrops.
There is enough star power in the upcoming flick to keep cash-registers ringing and theatre seats full. Yes, stuntman turned actor Ajay Devgn will return in the iconic role, while Ranveer Singh will grace the screen as the character Simbhaa. Meanwhile, Feminine police-dom will take shape courtesy the delectable Deepika Padukone, marking the introduction of the first female cop to the series. And rounding off the top cast, the ever-manly Akshay Kumar is entrusted with the role of Suryavanshi.
Doubling down for a healthy viewership, Rohit Shetty has also brought on board Tiger Shroff and Kareena Kapoor Khan in supporting. The producer presented the film’s First Look at an occasion marking his decade-long anniversary of the release Gunday, for which he also collaborated with Ranveer Singh. This teaser for Singham Again comprised a colourful still of Ranveer versus Arjun... the main hue being that of burgundy blood! This naturally gives us a sense of the violence that the audience is set to be gripped by. Ranveer was even reported as calling the junior Kapoor “My Baba Baddest!” Now let’s just see if the playing-against-type Arjun can live up to that title.
