Dubai, UAE (27 March 2024): The H Dubai proudly announces its collaboration with Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo Okeke, an exceptional artist who defies the odds of autism, to showcase a series of his captivating artworks at the hotel. The exhibition, titled “Spectrum Splendor: A Young Artist's Journey,” aims to inspire and promote inclusion through art. Featuring 20 of his exceptional pieces, guests are invited to marvel at his incredible creativity from April 1st to 5th.  

The H Dubai prides itself on its commitment to inclusivity, demonstrated through its status as the first autism-certified hotel in Dubai. Through a comprehensive approach, the hotel ensures that individuals on the autism spectrum feel welcomed and supported during their stay. From providing specialised training to staff to sensitising facilities to cater to the diverse needs of guests, The H Dubai strives to create an environment where everyone feels valued and included.  

Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo Okeke is a remarkable young award-winning artist making waves in Nigeria and beyond. His art work represents his unique personality and he has used his his incredible talent to create spectacular pieces that have found their way into galleries and museums across the US, Europe, Nigeria, and other parts of Africa. 

Kanye's vibrant and expressive artworks have previously graced several prestigious galleries and exhibitions worldwide, including solo booth showcases at the Art Vancouver International Art Fair and the Kente Royal Gallery in New York. His remarkable talent has also garnered him numerous accolades, including the Atims Magazine World Top 60 Art Masters Award and the Artist of the Year Award at the African Contemporary Art Festival, solidifying his position as a rising star in the global art scene. 

Sophie Blondel, General Manager of The H Dubai, expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating, “At The H Dubai, we believe in creating a space that champions diversity, promotes artistic expression, and advocates for inclusion. Kanye’s remarkable journey as a young artist living with autism aligns perfectly with our vision. The exhibition will be open to the public from April 1st to 5th, with a special inauguration event taking place on April 2nd, coinciding with World Autism Day. Guests are invited to come to the hotel and consider purchasing the artwork, with a percentage of proceeds from all sales being donated to the Dubai Autism Centre. In addition to the art exhibition, The H Dubai will host a special art workshop on April 5th, led by Kanye, where he will personally guide and inspire children from the Dubai Autism Center to create their own beautiful art pieces, fostering a further sense of creativity and inclusion. 

Kanye expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, stating, “I am honoured to have my artwork showcased at The H Dubai. Art has been my voice, allowing me to express myself in ways I couldn't otherwise. I hope my journey inspires others and helps raise awareness about autism.”  

The H Dubai has ongoing collaborations with organisations like the Dubai Autism Centre, further underscoring its dedication to fostering a culture of understanding and acceptance, making the hotel a beacon of inclusivity in the heart of the city. The hotel regularly conducts craft workshops for children on the spectrum, displays their artwork, fundraises on their behalf, and works on creating vocational training for the children. Additionally, The H Dubai hosts annual Iftar events for children on the spectrum and their families from the Dubai Autism Centre & Georgetown Early Intervention Centre. 

The collaboration between The H Dubai and Kanye aims to support the UAE's vision to become an Autism-friendly destination and continues efforts to recognise the importance of inclusivity.
