God Saved the King: He’s Back in Action
The Monarch of the British Empire has made a dramatic recovery from a bout of cancer.
After more than two months of uncertainty about the British monarch’s health, it appears that God has indeed saved the King... with the help of an assigned team of doctors. Yes, the Royal Charlie has been out of action since early February this year owing to the onset of an ominous bout of cancer. But now, the tenacious 75-year-old figurehead is back to performing his public duties.
Buckingham Palace has confirmed the news that its top-most resident has responded well to several weeks of treatment. While, the royal institution has not disclosed the nature of the King’s cancer, it did state that he had been diagnosed with an inflamed pituitary gland. However, the authorities were clear that that part of Charles III’s anatomy had not turned malignant.
Interestingly, the royal patient is himself patron of Cancer Research UK and MacMillan Cancer Support. So, it seems the King was able to benefit from institutions that he himself supports. Talk about having a taste of one’s own medicine... in a positive way, of course! Charles III, had officially succeeded his mother – Queen Elizabeth II – as head of the British Empire in a coronation ceremony last May.
As of earlier this week, King Charles and his Better Half Queen Camilla paid visits to cancer-related installations in London. Highlighted on his upcoming schedule, he and the missus will be welcoming their counterparts from the Far East: Japan’s Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako. The Palace should pose a hospitable enough place after such a long journey.
