I met Kartik Aaryan of 2010 in 2024

I distinctly remember meeting @kartikaaryan many times in Mumbai when I was working @zoomtv. I would often bump into him at film screenings and events when he wasn’t anywhere close to the stardom that he’s enjoying today. I am sure he doesn’t remember now obviously but I did tell him that I see a spark in him and I knew that with his looks and attitude he will make it big. But it took a while.

He was being offered films where his role was often secondary to the heroines. I remember films like #kanchi directed by Subhash Ghai where the veteran filmmaker cast a new girl as always and all focus was on her while no one cared for Kartik. But he kept hustling anyway.

Cut to, today when he is here in Dubai for his film #chanduchampion directed by @kabirkhankk who is known to change fortunes of actors with author backed roles, untold stories of underdogs with grit and determination. He tells them with an entertaining edge. This is Kartik’a big chance to once again proving himself as an actor who can pull off such a demanding role. And getting to play it itself is no mean task. I had expected him to have some starry airs but he came across exactly as unassuming, unscripted and nonchalant as I knew him before. Even as scores of fans yearn to catch just a glimpse of him, of course a selfie would make their year if not life.

So, I only asked him one question- what would you like to tell the Kartik of 2010? And he had a very expectedly unexpected reply. Watch this space for that #ronversations
