United Arab Emirates is The Second Most Affordable Country for Raising a Large Family

The UAE has a safety rate of 85, the highest among all the countries analyzed. A new study ranked the most affordable countries to build a large family, with South Korea leading the pack due to its highest healthcare quality. The country with the lowest cost of living for a family of four and the lowest average rent is Oman.

November 11, 2024: A new study by Deluxe Holiday Homes analyzed 50 countries to determine the best destinations for raising a large family. The study calculated an affordability score based on six equally weighted factors: safety rate, cost of living for a family of four, average rent, average monthly net salary, education index, and healthcare quality.

South Korea ranks first in affordability with a composite score of 97. Offering a secure environment and quality healthcare, South Korea’s reasonable rent of $1,230.57 and overall monthly living cost of $3,774 provide families with a high quality of life without a high price tag. 

The United Arab Emirates claims second place, with a composite score of 94, for its high safety and income. With a safety rate of 85—the highest among the top countries—and a high monthly salary of $3,209.21, the UAE allows families to enjoy secure living and a cosmopolitan lifestyle.

Japan ranks third with a composite score of 93.3. With a low average rent of $997.84 and a monthly cost of $3,053.30, Japan offers a stable, family-friendly environment that balances budget with quality education and good public safety.

The Netherlands, scoring 92.2, stands out in terms of high income and educational quality. With a top-tier education system (index of 0.94) and a monthly salary of $3,513.28, the Netherlands lets families afford a comfortable life with European accessibility.

Finland ranks fifth with a score of 87.1. It offers top-quality education with an index of 0.96.  Finland is ideal for families who prioritize a moderate cost of living ($3,696.60), with its strong social support and cultural richness.

Norway, with a score of 79.1, focuses on income and education. Norway’s high education index (0.95) and average salary of $3,309.38 offer earning potential and quality healthcare, though it has a higher cost of living. It’s perfect for families who value economic and environmental quality.

The Czech Republic ranks seventh with a score of 78.8. Its low cost of living ($2,713.40) and safe, welcoming environment make it a European gem for families seeking quality living standards on a budget.

Denmark ranks eighth with a score of 77.7, excelling in income and education but at a higher cost. Denmark’s education index of 0.96 and monthly salary of $3,650.04 support families who prioritize the quality of life and modern amenities despite a higher cost of living.

Slovenia, with a score of 77.4, stands out with safety, education, and affordability. With a low cost of living ($3,004.30) and a safety rate of 76, Slovenia offers a safe and affordable European lifestyle for families on a mid-range budget.

Oman ranks tenth with a score of 77.2, excelling in affordability. Oman’s lowest cost of living ($2,535.40) and exceptionally low rent ($797.42) make it ideal for families seeking budget-friendly living and a warm climate.
